Agency for International Business and Co-operation (EVD)

The Agency for International Business and Co-operation is part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. Its mission is to promote and encourage international co-operation. As a State agency and a partner to business and public-sectors organisations, the EVD aims to help them achieve success in their international operations.

EVD Information: relevant data


EVD Information provides data on promising sectors abroad, foreign markets, legislation and regulation and so on. Much of this information is published in the monthly journal ‘Buitenlandse Markten’ or on the EVD’s website (www.evd.nl). For more specific topics, companies are invited to subscribe to an electronic newsletter or to make an appointment for an introductory interview.



EVD Business Promotion: personal guidance


EVD Business Promotion is a matchmaking service that brings Dutch companies into contact with interesting business partners and organisations in relevant markets. Businesses that need practical help can ask EVD Business Promotion for personal help.



EVD Programmes: project-based, financial support


This particular service consists of a number of schemes and programmes supporting specified sectors and businesses on a project-by-project basis. The programmes also involve international co-operation in emerging markets. EVD Programmes are not limited to financing; it also contributes the expertise that business, public and private-sector institution and potential trade partners need to succeed.

Chamber of Commerce (KvK)

With 50 offices spread throughout the Netherlands, a helping hand on how to import or export is never far away. The Chamber of Commerce operates independently and employs expert staff amongst which international trade consultants. Their services are directed to companies just starting their import or export activities as well as to those with years of experience in doing business abroad.


They can assist you in your search for information. If required, they shall guide you further to the numerous institutions and companies, inside and outside the Netherlands, that provide more information on specific subjects regarding international trade.

Federation for Dutch Exporters (Fenedex)

Fenedex is a private member organisation for internationally orientated companies. The agency tries to promote the quality of exports and stimulates the internalisation of the Dutch business community. With more than 1350 members, Fenedex is the biggest independent organisation for exporting and internationalising companies, offering many services on how to export to or from a foreign country.

Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI)

The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) is an Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The CBI's mission is to contribute to the economic development of developing countries by strengthening the competitiveness of companies from those countries on the EU market. CBI considers social values and compliance with the most relevant environmental requirements to be an integral part of its policy and activities. CBI offers a variety of services, such as a market information database, downloadable publications (www.cbi.nl), information about export developments, marketing guidelines and training programmes.
